Past Life

I trained as an accountant, which then transitioned into a banking career.

I thought that I was doing all the right things by studying and working hard, and sacrificing my time to get ahead. However, after 10 years in the industry, I looked out the window, longing for something else. My career wasn’t taking the trajectory I wanted, and I felt stuck.

I wanted freedom

I wanted to be able to work from anywhere in the world, wake up and plan my day, and even determine what kind of work I took on. I was tired of the dreaded commute to work and longed for a more flexible lifestyle.

But I didn’t know how to transition from my traditional job to freelancing.

I was scared that I would fall for online work scams and lose money. But then I took the plunge and started my own freelance business. And it has been the best decision I have ever made!

Now, I can work from anywhere, set my own hours, and take on the type of work I want. I don’t have to worry about the commute or dressing for work. And I can contribute to my family’s finances and pay off debt while still being there for my kids.

If you are thinking about switching to freelancing, don’t let your fears hold you back. It is a great way to achieve a work-life balance and live the lifestyle you want.

The Transition

It was incredibly difficult when I lost my job in 2016. I had just become a first-time mom, and my second baby was on the way. I also had a huge debt to repay.

I had to find a way to make money quickly, and writing seemed like the perfect solution. I wasn’t an A student in English, but I was willing to learn everything necessary to make this business venture work. And it did–I eventually made my first $20 on Upwork.

It was a great feeling to make money from home, and I was hooked. I continued to look for writing opportunities and was able to leverage my financial services experience to write for personal finance bloggers. Later, I founded a Financial Content Agency.

Writing is a great option if you’re looking for ways to make money from home. It’s important to learn how to write well and market your services, but it can be an addictive and rewarding way to make money once you get started.

It hasn’t always been easy, but making the transition to freelance writing has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Present

I founded Content Takeoff, a content marketing agency for the financial & fintech industry that focuses on creating content that generates business, not just traffic.

We are a fully done-for-you content marketing agency that takes over your company blog and creates high-quality, qualified traffic and conversions (leads, sales, trials, signups).

When creating content in our agency, our goal is to get better results from content marketing than 99% of other content marketers.

We develop a content marketing plan for you that involves publishing 2 to 3 high-quality articles to your blog every month.

Each piece of content is crafted to acquire new customers or drive conversions/sales.

Get monthly reports that show key metrics like traffic, rankings, and conversions.

I also own other sites, bettercreditlab & smartmomcrafts ranked on the top page of Google for their primary keywords in less than 3 months. I achieve this by investing heavily in various skills; writing, content marketing, SEO, a ton of failures before my successes, and learning on the fly.

My sole marketing method? Content.

And if I can do it, you can too.

Now I am an SEO & content marketing expert for financial services firms and personal finance bloggers.

SEO & Content Marketing has CHANGED MY LIFE! O_O

I now run multiple monetized websites and a remote team of writers.

The fact that I learned all this despite being allergic to technology is a sign that you can MOST DEFINITELY, do the same!

Anyway, guess what … I finally replaced my full-time banking income, and I work less hours, where I want when I want!

People believe that traveling and working online is great for the short term, but ultimately, if you want to buy that dream house and retire comfortably …. you need to be tied to a 9-5 job and make the ultimate sacrifice for the long term.

I am here to disprove that perception.

My blog will have insight into a few areas:

Making and Saving Money & Credit

I will show you ways to make extra money, so you can create more choices for yourself and live life on your terms.

Working in banking all those years would have been a bit pointless if I couldn’t help others make the most of their money and maximize their savings.

I will explore new ways to increase savings and reduce costs, so you can take charge of your finances and strut around like a peacock with a healthy nest egg.

MY EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE IN FINANCE

I graduated from Daystar University, Kenya, with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Masters in Banking & Finance.

My favorite finance courses were Banking & Financial Planning.

I worked for a large local bank for five years and then joined a private equity firm, where I learned banking operations, audit & risk, how to restructure debt, loans, private equity, and personal wealth management.

I learned about financial planning, investing, money, and banking from my education and work experience in the finance industry. I love helping others grow their wealth and achieve financial independence!
